Washington Trust Holds Ribbon Cutting for Newest Branch in Coventry, RI

Coventry, RI – This morning, Washington Trust held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate the opening of its 22nd branch, located at 732 Tiogue Avenue in Coventry, Rhode Island. Washington Trust Chairman and CEO Joseph MarcAurele and President and COO Edward “Ned” Handy were joined by Rhode Island State Representative, Patricia Morgan, Coventry Town Manager, Graham Waters, Coventry Town Council President, Glen Shibley, and Council Vice President, Gregory Laboissonniere. Andrea Palagi, Director of Communications for the Office of the Rhode Island Lt. Governor, presented a proclamation from Lt. Governor Daniel McKee recognizing the opening of the new branch.

At the ceremony, Ned Handy and Branch Manager Chris Devine presented a check to Julie Leddy, Executive Director of the Coventry Housing Authority, the branch’s first community partner in Coventry.

Also in attendance from Washington Trust were Mark Gim, Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer, Ron Ohsberg, Senior Executive Vice President and Treasurer, William Wray, Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Risk Officer, Deb Gormley, Executive Vice President of Retail Banking, James Hagerty, Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer, Dennis Algiere, Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer, Julia Anne Slom, Senior Vice President and Commercial Real Estate Team Leader, Elizabeth Eckel, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Thomas Klump, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer.
