Christine Rockwell saw the need for a kennel alternative for area pets, and wanted to keep her pet-sitting clients, while still being able to work from home. So, she and her husband, Dennis, a career firefighter, started Watch Dog In Home Boarding LLC in Kingston, RI. The couple’s own dogs, Salty, a 8 year old Australian Shepherd, Bronx, a 6 year old Golden Retriever, and Cally, a 4 year old Black Lab, love having friends over to play. Their "host cat", Bagheera, is dog savvy and loves making guests feel at home, too.

Christine began pet sitting before she could babysit and has owned many different breeds and worked in professional pet care for a number of years, including a specialty breeder, professional dog walking, dog training, doggy daycare, and a professional groomer. For the last five years, she has worked at an animal hospital to earn her license as a Certified Veterinary Technician! She currently works at an AAHA accredited Animal Hospital in Rhode Island.

The ultimate dog lovers have not only created an environment less stressful than a kennel, but a safe and secure setting to make your four-legged friend comfortable while you're away, or have company over. Your dogs can relax and enjoy themselves from the comfort of a real home, instead of being stuck in a crate or kennel run all day, bored and stressed. They have years of experience with dog behavior and helping manage large groups of dogs, and dogs in stressful situations. Christine is knowledgeable with medicating dogs, and dogs with special needs from young puppies to seniors. Her husband Dennis is very knowledgeable with medicating dogs as well, especially because the two have a diabetic dog at home that requires treatment.

This is a home-based business and pick up and drop off is strictly by appointment only for the comfort and safety of guests.
