Meet Laura Liddle and Matt Schoeninger from Ocean State Kidz Club in Cranston!

Laura and Matt created OSKC nearly two years ago, after recognizing a need for youth programs for students in grades 6-8.

Laura, OSKC’s owner and director, is a highly experienced childcare professional who has spent her entire career serving families in the greater Warwick and Cranston areas. Her experience includes pre-school programs, before and after school care, summer camp and youth programs. She was born and raised in Rhode Island and spent her early years as a student at her family-owned childcare centers in Warwick. Liddle Tots, Liddle Tots II TEEN and Ocean State Kidz were founded by her parents in the early 90’s. Laura experienced first-hand and benefited from the high-quality childcare provided by her family’s business. After graduating from CCRI, Laura followed in her family’s footsteps and became Director of Liddle Tots II TEEN in 2009.

Laura’s husband Matt, co-founder, owner and school-age staff member at OSKC, is a seasoned professional with over ten years of experience working in the school-age childcare industry. Matt started his career in 2006 as an Emergency Medical Technician-basic, which gave him the knowledge and skills to provide parents with assurance and a sense of safety. In 2014, Matt completed the certified personal fitness training program through NESTA. He is devoted to creating a safe, fun, healthy enriching environment where children can expand their horizons. Matt is committed to continue providing the highest quality childcare to families and serves as a role model to all.

Their combined experience led them to create unique programs for the center, all based on the needs of the community. They enjoy being able to be creative in their roles and needed to get creative amid the COVD-19 pandemic to accommodate their students! They created a daytime distance learning program for students from 7:45am-5pm, so parents can go to work, and students can be supervised and supported while distance learning.
